Lions News Roundup - September 2011
The Lions Club of Winchelsea is close to completing a project initiated by the Lions Club of Moriac (which has now been folded into the Winchelsea Lions Club) - the Moriac Avenue of Honour has had its trees pruned, and stainless steel plaques bearing the name and regimental information of each fallen soldier will be erected.

The Walk To Wurdale fundraising event for 2011 is coming up soon (October 23), with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Australia and the Dragons Abreast cancer support organisations. This year there will be a small $5 charge for entry to the food & entertainment at the other end of the walk (Winchelsea Senior Citizens to the Holdsworth residence in Wurdale).All welcome!
Winchelsea Lions Club is making a donation toward the Neighbourhood Watch "Schools Day", and will also once again be in attendance with the Chuck Wagon.
The Lions Club of Winchelsea is also sponsoring 1 child to Camp Licola

Walk To Wurdale 2011October is Breast Cancer Month, and the Winchelsea Lions Club will be holding their annual "Walk To Wurdale" to raise funds for Breast Cancer Australia. Walk To Wurdale in 2011 will take place on Sunday October 23rd, starting at the Winchelsea Senior Citizens in Harding Street at 10am. All monies raised go to support breast cancer, everyone is requested to get their pink walking gear organised to put on a good show! This will be a family day, and you can walk, run, ride a bike or horse, or travel on your gopher. At the other end, there will be a barbecue, horse rides, Dan The Magic Man, music, face painting and other entertainment. A great day out for a great cause. Lions News Roundup - August 2011The "Trick Or Treat Kidz Fest" has requested financial assistance for their first event, which they they are aiming to repeat annually - profits to Bravehearts plus other kid's charities in the area. The organisers are auspiced under Winchelsea Community House. There will be a maximum 400 tickets (ie around 2,000 people). Winchelsea Lions Club agreed to assist with a substantial cash donation for this first "proof of concept" year. A request was received to organise a public meeting in Winchelsea regarding the Cemetary Trust and their work at Winchelsea Cemetery. Membes of the Winchelsea Lions felt that the cemetary has been very well maintained and managed and is looking great. It was agreed to book the public meeting at the Senior Citizens on Wednesday 12th October at 7:30pm, with tea and biscuits available.
